JAY-Z (born Shawn Corey Carter), former street hustler raised in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, has become a magnificently successful hip hop artist and entrepreneur. He has gathered 10 Grammy Awards for his music, and has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. He is part owner of the New Jersey Nets, creator of the clothing line Rocawear, former CEO of Def Jam Recordings and founder of Roc Nation. He holds the record for the most number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200. He is married to the rhythm and blues superstar Beyonce Knowles.
