This page explains what eTube collects when you use the site and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like every website, our servers record the address your device connects from, the pages you request, the time and your browser type. We keep these logs for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
- View counts. To count a view once per person per day we store a one-way token derived from your connection address and browser type. It cannot be turned back into either, is not linked to an account, and is deleted after three days.
- Cookies. eTube sets a session cookie only when you sign in, so that your favourites, Watch Later list and playlists follow you around the site. Your browser may also remember a few display preferences, such as whether the sidebar is collapsed. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your account. Signing in uses your eFind account. We receive your name, email address and avatar and store them so we can show your account and send you the emails you ask for, such as the result of a video you submitted. Your password never reaches eTube.
- What you save. Favourites, Watch Later, playlists, channels you follow and submitted videos are stored with your account. Public playlists are visible to anyone who has the link.
- Watch history. Off unless you switch it on in your account settings. When on, we store how far you got in each video so you can resume it and see a “Continue watching” row. You can clear it or switch it off at any time.
- Reports and messages. When you report a video or use the contact form we keep what you sent, including any name and email address you gave, so we can act on it and reply.
Embedded players
Videos play in the original platform's own player, embedded in our pages. When a player loads, that platform may set its own cookies and collect its own data under its own privacy policy. We use the privacy-enhanced embed options the platforms offer, and nothing loads from a platform until you open a video page.
Who we share data with
Nobody, except the platform whose player is embedded on a page you open and the provider that hosts our servers. We do not sell or rent any information.
Your choices
You can use eTube without signing in. To see, change or delete what we hold about your account, or to ask about this policy, use the Contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
