Drake is an experimental exploration the environmental impact of the Martin Drake Power Plant in Colorado Springs, CO. The plant sits in the heart of my hometown and everyday sends billowing clouds of steam into the air. This steam contains sulfur dioxide, the main component of acid rain. Over 9,000 tons of sulfur dioxide are emitted from the plant each year. Countless effort have been made to decommission the plant since the Nixon Era Clean Air Act was signed in 1970, but little progress has been made.
