Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu heads to Washington with a clear agenda — confronting Iran’s nuclear enrichment, ballistic missile expansion, and support for regional terror proxies. As U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee signals extraordinary U.S.–Israel alignment, Tehran refuses to halt uranium enrichment and blocks inspections at key nuclear sites. With U.S. forces moving into the region and intelligence warning Iran aims to expand its missile arsenal to 8,000, the stakes for Middle East security have rarely been higher. Before departing for America, Netanyahu said he would present President Trump with principles he believes are vital not only for Israel’s security but for global peace in the Middle East. The visit signals a coordinated strategy at a moment of rising tension and strategic urgency.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee is traveling alongside Netanyahu, underscoring what he described as extraordinary alignment between the two nations. That unity comes as Washington and Tehran prepare for a second round of talks.
Central to the discussions are Iran’s uranium enrichment activities, its ballistic missile program, and its backing of regional terror proxies. Also on the table is Iran’s violent crackdown on its own protesting citizens — an issue adding further international scrutiny.
Despite renewed diplomacy, Iran is refusing to halt uranium enrichment. Satellite imagery shows the regime has covered tunnel entrances at its nuclear site in Isfahan, raising new concerns about concealment and escalation.
Tehran is also declining to negotiate limits on its missile program, calling the arsenal essential to its defense following the June War. The IDF estimates Iran’s missile stockpile has dropped to approximately 1,500.
However, Israeli intelligence believes Iran’s long-term goal is far more ambitious — expanding that stockpile to roughly 8,000 missiles. Even without nuclear warheads, such an arsenal could terrorize the region and potentially overwhelm Israel’s anti-missile defense systems.
