Japan Earthquake Triggers Tsunami Alert, Buildings Shake As 7.1 Magnitude Temblor Strikes Kyushu

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on July 28 that several injuries, collapsed buildings and fires had been reported after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit the country's southwest, knocking out power to thousands of households, AFP reported.

"We are still assessing the extent of injuries and property damage, but I have been informed that there have already been several injuries," Takaichi said.
