Shanclen is a Navajo cultural practitioner, paranormal investigator, and filmmaker. He grew up on an ancient burial ground near Black Mesa, apprenticed under warrior ceremony medicine men as a teenager, and has spent years documenting real indigenous ceremonial approaches to the paranormal on YouTube.
In this episode, he breaks down the truth about skinwalkers, explains what white ash spiritual protection actually does versus what sage does, and walks through why sweetgrass and cedar are the real tools for banishing. He also shares real Navajo reservation horror stories, including a childhood face-to-face with an interdimensional entity draped in human skulls that paralyzed him psychically until a sacred eagle-bone whistle drove it off.
Beyond the paranormal, this episode goes deep. Shanclen covers the federal criminalization of native ceremonies until 1970, the generational trauma of residential boarding schools, the linguistic power of the Navajo tongue, and native American Star Nation lore surrounding extraterrestrials and Bigfoot. If you want Navajo medicine man stories told with cultural integrity and zero Hollywood nonsense, this is the episode.
