Shailene Woodley’s stylist Karla Welch addressed “super rude and mean” comments leveled at the Paradise star’s Emmys red carpet look, which left the internet divided. Woodley wore a bold Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2026 haute couture ensemble featuring gold sequin-embellished trousers, a plunging periwinkle top and opera gloves. After the Sept. 14 ceremony, the actress switched up the look for Disney’s after-party, swapping in a Home of the Brave graphic T-shirt. In a Threads post, Welch acknowledged that fashion can be a conversation but slammed comments “being super rude and mean" about the ensemble.
