At the crossroads of technology and culture, Rock Band 2 was poised to revolutionize the way the audience experienced rock music while introducing young fans to classic songs on an interactive, globally networked platform. In 2008, the Boston based video-game company, Harmonix, was bullish about the release Rock Band 2, the follow up version of their wildly popular music video game which had succeeded in spite of only having music from unknown bands made mostly of Harmonix’s own employees. The game had propelled those groups to national prominence and made their tour schedules expand to the point that a solution was needed to permit the rock star employees to both tour the world and work remotely from the road. Cisco's Webex technology was ready to enable global telecommuting, which saved time, money and rock musician's careers. This is the teaser I cut for the web series, The Making of Rock Band 2, Directed by Kurt Mattila and Matt Checkowski.
