I wanted to push my Panasonic AF101 and its Voigtlander lens (f0.95) and so when the opportunity arose to make a short music video with some colleagues I grabbed the chance. Gerry Talbot who is the lead singer with Tom Petty tribute band The Petty Heartbreakers together with the band members were incredibly helpful and patient during the filming which took the best part of two days. I found that the lens needs a large amount of light to achieve a decent depth of field and it would be good to see what it can do on an outdoor music shoot. I also found that a larger on-board-camera monitor would be helpful as achieving critical focus was hard work especially in darkened rooms. However, when critical focus was achieved we found the results were good. What impressed me was the variable fame rate capability of the AF101. It can shoot up to 50fps (PAL) or 60fps (NTSC) at full 1920x1080 and gives what we felt were good results. Many thanks for watching.
