US and Iran Hold Talks in Oman to De-Escalate Mideast Tensions

Iran and the US held indirect talks on Friday to reduce tensions that have threatened to spiral into war, with Tehran saying the meetings will be the first stage of a longer diplomatic process.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi met separately with the Iranian delegation led by his counterpart Abbas Araghchi and with the US team including special envoy Steve Witkoffand President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
