Utopia at Van Halen 2012

When we heard Van Halen was coming to town we grabbed tickets ASAP and couldn't wait to see these legends of rock perform again, especially with Diamond Dave back at the helm. We were fortunate enough to get VIP passes with our tickets, which got us in early to watch the guys sound check and get a little preview of the show. After sound check we were treated to free food and drinks as well as a raffle where they gave away heaps of Van Halen memorabilia.
After filling our bellies with turkey wraps and cocktails, we ventured inside to check out opening act Kool & The Gang. They played all of their cult classics which was nostalgic of every wedding we've ever been to. They got the crowd jumping, singing, dancing and all ramped up for Van Halen.
When Eddie, David, Alex and Wolfgang hit the stage, the crowd went ballistic. The boys played all of their greatest hits and brought down the house. It was go great to see that although they're getting up in age, they haven't lost a step on stage. It was also amazing to see a lot of San Diego's youth getting into the show and shouting along.
