This group was formed originally by 4 childhood friends in 2004: Lead vocalist Brendon Urie, lead guitarrist Ryan Ross, drummer Spencer Smith and bass guitarist Brent Wilson named themselves after a song by 'Name Taken'. At first they played cover-songs from Blink-182. They hadn't even performed a live show when they signed with Pete Wentz's (Fall Out Boy) imprint label and were the first act to do so. They released their debut album 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out' in 2005 and peaked at #11 in Australia, #13 in the USA and #17 in the UK among other countries. Their single 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies' became their first Top Ten Hit as it peaked at #7 in the US Billboard Hot 100. Shortly thereafter Brent Wilson left the group and was replaced by Jon Walker. They released their 2nd studio album "Pretty. Odd" in 2008 which peaked at #2 in the UK, USA and Canada while it topped the album charts in Australia. In 2009 Urie and Smith were left alone after Ross and Walker decided to leave the formation but were then joined by touring bassist Dallon Weekes. They released their 3rd studio album 'Vices & Virtues' in 2011 which peaked at #6 in Australia and #7 in the UK. In 2013 the grop released their next album "Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!" which peaked at #2 in the USA and #10 in the UK. It was the last album with Smith as he dedided to leave in 2015. So Brendon Urie continued as 'Panic! At The Disco' as one one-piece group, as Weekes became a touring member only again.
In 2016 Urie released the next album "Death of a Bachelor" which topped the US album charts, peaked at #3 in Australia and Canada and #4 in the UK. In 2018 the next album "Pray For The Wicked" was released which topped the album charts in the USA, Canada and Australia, while it peaked at #2 in the UK and #8 in Germany. The single 'High Hopes' became the group's best charting single as it peaked at #4 in the USA, #5 in Canada and Germany and #7 in Australia among other countries. Their newest album 'Viva Las Vengeance' is announced to be released this upcoming fall.
