In a game where scoring was hard to find, Erin Matson scored a pair of second half goals to lead No.2 North Carolina over No.15 Wake Forest. Matson's two goals came despite a strong performance from Deacs goalkeeper Ellie Todd, who made 12 saves in the face of a strong Tar Heel attack. Sophomore Lisa Slinkert earned an assist on the second Matson goal, and the Carolina defense held Wake to just two shots on goal.
