We Finally Let DOGS Talk | Cat Podcast
In this episode of The Cat Podcast, Biscuit and Ash host guests for the first time — two dogs, Cooper and Jack — a development that was, for the record, not their idea; it simply happened, and they are both, formally, not opposed. Every topic turns into the same quiet war between two worldviews. Cooper thinks the owner walking through the door is the single greatest event of the day, every day; Biscuit notes that a thing that happens every day isn't an event, it's a schedule. Cooper knows sit, down, paw, stay; the cats know "get off the table," and Ash answers "come here" about twenty minutes late, entirely on his own initiative — flex hours. The owner lets Cooper up at the foot of the bed and Cooper is grateful; Ash sleeps diagonally across the middle and treats the man's logistics as the man's problem. Cooper defends the daily walk right up until Biscuit walks him to the truth — that his human puts on a coat and carries a little plastic bag out into the rain twice a day, while the cats have a warm box indoors and someone who cleans it, voluntarily, on a schedule. Jack, a pug of accidental depth, keeps stumbling into something almost profound. And when Cooper insists that fetch is bonding — you throw, I bring it back, together — Biscuit reframes the entire arrangement: it's an unpaid internship, and Cooper has reapplied, every single day, for years.
