what japan understands about fashion that we don't
I went to Japan for the first time this year, and as I photographed street style, I started questioning why the Japanese dress so much better than the rest of the world.
They didn’t invent jeans, or the blazer, or the hoodie, yet they still managed to become one of the most influential fashion places on the planet.
At first, I thought it might just be a natural sense of style. But that’s not true. So, when I came back home, I did a lot research, and this is my theory :)
PS: please take everything I said with a grain of salt - I'm not Japanese, I've never lived in Japan, so this is merely my ignorant perception as a tourist who was fascinated by this country and their people 🩷
