US President Donald Trump has called the ouster of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from power in an overnight raid on Caracas "a miracle." South Americans are going "to be happy" with the fall of Maduro, Trump insisted while departing for Florida for the weekend.
Trump met with executives from some of the world's largest oil companies on Jan. 9 to discuss Venezuela. The meeting at the White House was attended by top executives from leading US oil giants, including Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips and Chevron Corp, among others. Trump has called oil his top priority in the strategy for the South American nation after US forces seized Maduro.
