For seven days, I’m traveling through Afghanistan together with my cameraman, Friso... a country that has been under Taliban control since 2021. With this documentary, I want to show an honest and unfiltered look at everyday life in one of the most closed-off countries in the world. We speak with local people, capture extraordinary encounters, and film everything we come across along the way to show the raw reality of Afghanistan.

This journey was anything but straightforward. My parents were deeply concerned, and the Dutch/ USA government’s travel advice for Afghanistan is marked red for good reason. During this trip, I’m going to find out for myself how safe it really is and discover the reality behind the headlines.

This is my most exciting and extraordinary journey yet. I hope you watch the documentary with an open mind.
