This experience is inspired by the strumming, singing, stomping, shouting and clapping physicality of the blues and gospel. Like the call and response of the music, we created an improvisational structure - interactively 'trading fours' in a rich and open dialogue. The story of the blues and gospel is one of duality and of crossovers, in which visitors trace the passage from the sacred to the secular and back again.

Guided by the voices of bluesmen and women, visitors compose a tour of blues and gospel from an archive of songs, melodies, rhythms, harmonies, lyrics and instruments. Content comes to life in a stream of graphics, image, film and sound that flows like the lambent passage of the Mississippi River, demonstrating the close call-and-response kinship between deliverance and "the devil's music."
