This song is written as much for me as for anyone! I need to be constantly reminded that tackling projects one step at a time is so important - for our mental health and for actually achieving anything. So often we become overwhelmed by a task in had and give up before we even get there. Taking it one step at a time gives us a fighting chance.

Collaborator and keyboard player Tom Phelan has worked across many musical genres (jazz, pop, folk, West African, gospel, modern classical, house, electronic) for over 20 years and has travelled extensively in the process. Hilary Burt is a piano, sax and flute player, composer and producer. Her music has elements of indie pop, jazz and electronica and since Lockdown 2020 she has been singing her own songs, creating, recording, producing, mixing and mastering and honing her unique sound.

She writes and plays sax and flute in her 8 piece band, 'Hilary Burt’s Blue Calluna' - an infectious blend jazzy/latin sounds featuring saxes, flutes, vocals, piano, bass, drums and percussion. Her compositions are played by Terry Pack's Trees and by the Brighton based Sussex Jazz Orchestra. Many of her songs are with boutique sync licensing agencies in the US and UK.

Hilary also works with children who have dyslexic type difficulties and she has been helping and inspiring children for nearly 20 years. Before that she was a primary school teacher in the London boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
