Demonstrators scuffle with Lebanese soldiers after closing a main highway in protest over a hike in customs duties. The protesters, many of them car dealers, burnt tires and held posters that read, "They've wrecked our homes."

Lebanese authorities in mid-May raised the "customs dollar" -- the rate used to calculate duties on imported goods -- from 60,000 LBP to 86,000 LBP. It was the fourth such increase to the rate since it jumped tenfold to 15,000 LBP in December to match Lebanon's new official exchange rate. #Lebanon #Protest #Currency #reels #voanews
