Winner of two Academy Awards, including Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis and Best Actress Brenda Fricker, this is the inspiring true story of a man who defied the odds to become a well-known author, artist and activist. Paralyzed from birth, Christy Brown is written off as helpless. But Christy's indomitable mother never gives up on the boy. Using his left foot, the only part of his body not afflicted, Brown learns to write, and finds the courage to change the world around him.
