The city Police Commissioner (Mohanlal) receives an anonymous call. The anonymous caller (Kamal Haasan) threatens to cause explosions if his demand of release of four terrorists is not met with. Mohanlal is forced to act as a negotiator. His team comprises of two young cops (Ganesh Venkatraman and Bharath Reddy). The latter half of the movie reveals that Kamal Haasan has a hidden agenda behind the release demand. The movie climax unwraps this mystery.
