Scottish Championship Car Racing returns to Knockhill in 2016

Scottish Championship Racing makes a welcome return to Knockhill in 2016. Alongside the opening event of the season on Sunday 3rd April, the Scottish Motor Racing Clubs’ members will take to the Knockhill tarmac during seven race events throughout the 2016 season; culminating in an adrenaline-fuelled season finale on Sunday 16th October where the new Scottish Champions will be crowned.

SMRC events at Knockhill generally follow the same format with practice/qualifying in the morning until approximately 11am. Followed by up to 17 races, with in excess of 120 drivers lining up on the gird throughout the day.

A short, sharp, racing format ensures that assembled fans don’t have to wait too long to see the next breathtaking piece of action unfold before their eyes, on Knockhill’s 1.27mile track; and with seven different racing classes including Formula Ford, BMW, Mini, Fiesta, Legends, Sports & Saloons and Classics, there’s a whole heap of machinery on view for motorsport fans.
