Snowy Day on the Green

On Dec. 18th Western North Carolina got a bunch snow, as much as 24" in places. Down by the Green River we got about 10" and the roads were hectic for anyone. It as right at 30 degrees, and the river was running 13".

We walked down from my house to the Upper Green, paddled both the Upper and Narrows and took out at the normal takeout. With the takeout road icy we walked up the 18 switchbacks to the highway.

So all totaled 2 1/2 miles walking in to Bayless Boof, The upper and narrows of the green paddled, and 2 miles walked out straight up.

Days like these don't happen very often in our area so we had to take advantage of a unique experience out there.
