The Drake Relays

I was given an amazing opportunity by Terrence Thames and Drake Athletics to help them shoot creative video for the Drake Relays. I was given full creative control and I couldn't be more proud or happy for how this 2 minute short turned out. Coincidentally, Stillmotion opened up their challenge the day the Relays started.

It was so fun and such a learning experience to think through the process of interviewing and looking for the right ambient light for the interviews. As it turned out inside of the Knapp Center on the Drake campus has some pretty nice natural interview lighting.

The athletes and coaches I interviewed could not have been nicer. I simply went up to them, told them I was making a short video for Drake, and they all agreed, many with some "encouragement" from their friends.

The Drake Relays is such an awesome and Iowa event, I hope (and think) this 2 minute short does a good job of showing what and who the Drake Relays is.
