This is my second Rolling Stones music video. If you want to go on thinking this song is about the Vietnam War, be my guest. But I believe it is really about a very angry, dark reaction to the death of a girlfriend. "Paint It Black" reached #1 on Billboard and Cash Box on June 11, 1966. It also peaked at #1 on the UK Singles Chart. The song became The Rolling Stones' third #1 hit single in the US and sixth in the UK.
