She was born as Taylor Alison Swift in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. Swift started performing in musical theaters at the age of 9 and traveled to New York City for vocal and acting lessons. Soon she started dreaming of a career in country music, inspired by Shania Twain and Faith Hill. After being rejected at age 11 by record companies, she was given an artist devolepment deals a few years later. She and her family relocated to Tennessee then when she was 14. In 2006 after she signed a record deal she released her debut album "Taylor Swift" - the album peaked at #5 in the US Billboard Charts and spent over 150 weeks in there. It was certified 7 times platinum in the USA and sold over 7,75 million times worldwide. In 2008 she released her 2nd album "Fearless" with the lead single "Love Story" peaking at #4 in the US Billboard Single Charts. It became her first #1 in Australia though. The album topped the US Billboard album charts and sold over 12 million times worldwide. It was certified Diamond (12 times platinum) in the USA. At the Grammys Swift won "Album of the Year" and "Best Country Album" - she was the youngest artist to win "Album Of The Year".
In 2010 she released her 3rd album "Speak Now" and again topped the US Billboard Album Charts, and also peaked at #1 in Canada and Australia. It sold over 5 million times worldwide and was certified 6times platinum in the USA. The single "Mean" won Grammys for "Best Country Song" and "Best Country Solo Performance". She also won "Woman of the Year" by Billboard in 2011. Rolling Stone Magazin placed "Speak Now" on her Top 50 list of female best albums of all time.
In August 2012 she released the debut single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" from her new album "Red". It became her first #1 single in the US Billboard Single Charts. The album incorporated new genres for Swift debuted at #1 in the US album charts and sold 1,21 million copies in the first week marking the highest opening sales in the USA. The album was certified 7times platinum in the USA alone and sold over 6 million times worldwide. In 2014 Swift relocated to New York City and released "1989" her 5th album and her first without country roots. The album sold over 1,28 million times during the first week and debuted at #1 in the US album charts. It also topped the Canadian, Australian, UK and Ireland album charts and sold over 10 million times worldwide. It was certified 9times platinum in the USA and Australia, 6times in Canada and 4times in the UK. 3 singles of the album topped the US Hot 100 Billboard Single Charts ("Shake It Off", "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood"). She became the first women in Billboard Chart history to replace herself on top of the chart when "Blank Space" became #1 after "Shake It Off" dropped down. She won 3 Grammys: "Best Album Of The Year", "Best Pop Vocal Album" and "Best Music Video" for "Bad Blood".
In 2017 Swift releaded her next album "Reputation" with the lead single "Look What You Made Me Do" - The single became her 5th #1 single and the album also topped the US album charts and sold over 4,5 million times worldwide. and was certified triple platinum in the USA. In 2019 she signed a new record deal with a new company and released her 7th album "Lover" - another #1 in the USA with over 3 million units sold worldwide.
In total Swift has sold over 50 millions albums and 150 million singles worldwide. 97 songs of hers charted in the US Billboard Single Charts. She won 10 Grammy Awards, was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, included in the Top 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time List by Rolling Stones and Time's Top 100 of the most influential people in the world in 2010, 2015 and 2016 and Forbes #1 the Celebrity 100 of 2016 and 2019. Billboard named her the woman of the decade and American Music Awards named her Artist of the Decade.
