Tensions between the United States and Iran are showing signs of renewed escalation, with U.S. President Donald Trump threatening severe consequences. The Pentagon is sending a third aircraft-carrier strike group and additional troops to West Asia, adding an estimated 9,000 to 10,000 personnel to the region. The deployment includes the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group and the USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said it is prepared to launch as many missiles as necessary to deter its enemies and respond to any fresh attack. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also said Tehran has not rejected dialogue, while accusing the United States of seeking to destroy Iran.
