Is Germany about to BAN its most popular party? The AfD (Alternative for Germany) just won massive landslides, 43.8% in Saxony-Anhalt and 38.2% in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and now leads national polls at 29.5%, ahead of Chancellor Friedrich Merz's CDU. In this episode of Decoded, Nikita Kapoor breaks down the political earthquake in Germany. Why is the ruling SPD pushing to ban the AfD? What is the undemocratic firewall? Can the Federal Constitutional Court actually outlaw the AfD? And is the EU under Ursula von der Leyen planning to freeze 2.95 billion euros for German states that voted AfD?
