Hummingbird Chicks Feeding

Iridescent green and cinnamon-colored feathers mark this adult female Allen's hummingbird as she feeds nectar foraged at a nearby cape Honeysuckle tree to her 10-day-old chicks nesting high in bamboo canes above my backyard. She is rough during feeding, which she does every few hours. Allen's hummingbirds are native to Coastal California and Mexico, but the ornamentals on which they nest and feed are not.
