It’s wild to look back at the golden days of Nokia and BlackBerry, only to watch the iPhone and Android come out of nowhere and completely take over the market. Plus, we'll look at some of the new challengers trying to shake things up today.

0:00 – The Pre-Touch Era (2000–2006) Back when Nokia and Symbian ruled the world. We look at the legendary Communicator and N-Series phones, the early PDA battles between Palm OS and Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry quietly taking over corporate offices everywhere.

1:30 – The Touchscreen Revolution (2007–2011) Everything changes. Steve Jobs drops the iPhone in 2007, and Google follows up with Android in 2008. Palm and Samsung try to keep up, and surprisingly, Symbian actually hits its all-time peak (around 250M users) right before Nokia's infamous "Burning Platform" memo triggers its collapse.

3:15 – The Great Die-Off (2012–2016) RIP to the classics. BlackBerry peaks in 2012 before fading out, and Microsoft spends billions trying to make Windows Phone happen, but ultimately fails because they just couldn't get the apps. Meanwhile, Android and Apple both cross the massive 1-billion-device milestone.

5:00 – The Two-Horse Race & New Challengers (2017–2026) Android and iOS now control 99.9% of the market. But the story isn't over—KaiOS is bringing the web to millions of feature-phone users in India and Africa, and Huawei's HarmonyOS is exploding in China as they officially cut ties with Android.
