The Los Angeles Rams opened training camp with high expectations, but quarterback Matthew Stafford has yet to take the field due to lingering back soreness. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed the team is taking a week-to-week approach, focused on having Stafford ready for the season opener vs Houston.

Despite Stafford’s absence, the Rams are building a powerful new-look offense. They signed All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, retained left tackle Alaric Jackson, and added TE Terrance Ferguson and RB Jarquez Hunter in the draft. With Stafford healthy, the Rams could be serious contenders for the NFC West title.

Last season, Stafford threw for over 3,700 yards and 20 TDs, leading the Rams to a 10-7 record and playoff berth. While he’s not expected to play in preseason regardless of health, his return remains the biggest storyline of training camp.
